Brittany's

The Brittany Spaniel is a well built, small to medium-sized dog.   These dogs possess an  athletically, well-balanced frame, enabling them to function well as a retrieving gun dog.  Brittany Spaniels have the substance and stamina to hunt waterfowl or upland game for longhours with moderate amounts of training.  The most distinguishing characteristics of the Brittany Spaniel is its thick, yet soft coat.  Brittany Spaniels are intelligent and good tempered dogs, excelling in training and showing its loyalty to their owners.

The Brittany Spaniel is a small to average size dog, usually measuring approximately 17 1/2 to 20 1/2 inches in height at the shoulder; bitches are slightly less. The weight of a Brittany Spaniel ranges from 30 to 40 pounds.

The Brittany Spaniel breed comes in a variety of colorcombinations.  The pattern of a Brittany Spaniel is very unique, illustrating either a clear or roan pattern.   The coloring of a Brittany Spaniel usually ranges from orange and white to liver and white.  The ears of a Brittany are usually colored, while a white streak runs down the face to the nose.  The coat of a Spaniel is rather dense, yet it  remains silky and straight.  These dogs need regular grooming with a wired brush or comb.

A  Brittany Spaniel is a great companion and an excellent hunter.  They are very sensitive dogs demonstrating loyalty to their owners.  They also respond very positively to field trials and training techniques.  The Brittany Spaniel will repay you with a high standard of performance in both pointing and retrieving.
